Rare Hamilton Pacer Electric 50’s GF Original 500 Watch
EXCELLENT CONDITION White & Yellow Gold Filled Hamilton Pacer Electric Wristwatch. This beauty dates back to the late 1950’s and is one of the earliest electric watches. This is a vintage watch and not a modern re-issue.
Movement : Hamilton 500 Electic movement in excellent condition. According to my research: the Hamilton 500 holds the historic distinction of being the world’s first electric watch movement. After a production run of less than two years, it was replaced by the 500A, and then the far more common 505. Original 500 movements, in such excellent condition, and in the original watch like this one, are becoming difficult to find at any price.
Markings on the movement read:“Hamilton 500, Pat Pending”
Case : 10K yellow gold filled case and back (4-lugs are in white gold filled and some minor discoloration). There is some case wear at the 9 O’clock position of the underside. Inside of case reads:“Hamilton W Co., Lancaster, Pa. 10K Gold Filled, S138096”
Dial : Original and in excellent condition (not repainted)
Dial reads:“Hamilton Electric”
Hands : Original and excellent with red arrowed second hand
Crystal : excellent condition with no scratches
Strap : Vintage croc strap – shows some wear
Crown : Original and signed
Size : 32mm excluding the crown, lugs to lugs 46mm
Overall Condition : Very Good Original Condition. Watch may need a new battery and/or may need to have the contacts cleaned.
